Naruto absently sat in his seat in English class, twirling the small orange whistle in his hands. He was in a daze, thinking about what Hitomi had said.
"Naruto-san."
'Naruto-chan, save Hinata, but be careful, she'll use any chance she gets to kill you. Save her... Please...'
"Naruto-san!"
'I wonder what Hitomi meant by that? Maybe it was only a dream... I knew this would happen! I think about Hinata too much and now I think I see her dead sister in my dreams telling me to save her? Yeah right. But then how did I get the whistle?'
Ino, who was one of Hinata and Sakura's friends, who was sitting next to Naruto, nudged his elbow. "Oi, Naruto, pay attention!" She whispered sharply.
The blond quickly snapped out of his thoughts to see a very angry-looking Anko Mitarashi (Yes I made Anko their English teacher! I didn't want to use Jaraiya. He's used too much for English.).
"Hey, Uzumaki. Care to answer the question?" Anko asked.
Naruto hadn't even opened his book yet. "Um... what was the question again?"
Anko sighed. Naruto was a lost cause.
"Get your act together Uzumaki! We're on page 229." The purple-haired girl screamed.
Naruto nodded. You did NOT want to get on Anko's bad side.
"JUST WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, YOU IDIOTS? HOW COULD YOU BREAK THAT RULE? OUT OF ALL THE RULES, YOU JUST HAD TO BREAK THE BIGGEST ONE? OH... I'M SO GONNA TELL THE BOSS ABOUT THIS!"
Lu was screaming at Hitomi and Tsuki.
The redheaded sei was, to say the least... a little furious. She was almost as bad as Anko.
As the sei's little rant continued, Tsuki just looked stoically at her friend, a yawn escaping every now and then.
Hitomi, on the other hand, was sweating, wondering what Hoshina was going to do with them.
"And another thing-" Lu was cut off by Tsuki.
"Lu, would you stop worrying? We did not break a rule."
Lu opened her mouth to disagree, but Tsuki started talking again.
"It's against the rules for shinigami to interact with humans. The rules never said we couldn't."
Lu blinked, and then sweat dropped. "Y-yeah, b-but... w-what about... how d-did...?" Lu was at a loss for words.
Tsuki was right. Hitomi smiled nervously, sweat dropping, while Tsuki smirked. The raven knew she had won this little battle.
Lu sighed. "Okay, you win, I won't tell Hoshina." Tsuki's smirk widened, and Hitomi let out a sigh of relief.
"But Tsuki..." Said girl looked up. "You still didn't..." Tsuki then remembered her forgotten assignment.
"Oh, shoot! I forgot! I'll be right back!" Tsuki shouted, running to the gates. Hitomi and Lu just laughed.
Sakura looked at Naruto worriedly. He had been in a daze all day. "Naruto..." The blond looked up.
"What is it, Sakura?" Sakura looked down.
They were seated in the library, pouring rain outside. She felt uncomfortable asking this question.
"Do you... still think of Hinata... and..." She hesitated. She hadn't said his name in over three, four years.
"Sasuke?" Naruto finished. Sakura nodded.
"Yes, Sasuke." Saying the Uchiha's name left a bitter taste in her mouth.
Naruto laughed bitterly. "For Sasuke, only sometimes. For Hinata, every single day." He said, his eyes becoming distant.
"So, was that only a dream, or did that day at the clearing really happen?" Sakura looked at the blond.
"No, it wasn't a dream. It was real." Naruto nodded.
"So, mind telling me why you decided to bring those two up?" Naruto asked.
"Well it's just that I..." Sakura stopped, coughing violently.
"Sakura, Sakura, are you okay?" Naruto asked standing up, worried.
Sakura tried to croak out a 'yes', but her coughing only got worse. She suddenly stopped, and slumped forward, unconscious.
"Sakura!"
DREAM
Sakura stood on the sandy shores of a beach, waves washing over her feet. Her eyes scanned the area, stopping on Uchiha Tsuki.
Sakura then noticed something about Tsuki she didn't notice before.
When Sakura first saw her, she was wearing a purple shirt with jeans-The clothes she wore on the night she died. But now she wore a pure white dress that reached her mid-thigh, and a little white ribbon encircled her wrist. But what really got Sakura's attention was the blue tinted wings Tsuki had protruding from her back. There was also something different about her expression. Before, Tsuki was urgent and rushed. Now, though, she looked... calm.
The raven suddenly began to speak. "You know, I've always had a special connection with the water. Weather it be rain or the sea, I've always been drawn to it. However, the only reason I know for me having such a special connection to the rain is because the night I died, it was raining..."
Sakura looked at Tsuki for a moment, then took a step forward. "Oniichan, what's going on? Why are we here?"
Tsuki turned her attention from the crashing waves to the Full Moon above her.
"A boy and a girl stand alone, looking forward to their new futures, turning their backs on the forgotten past. They've forgotten everything about their pasts. All the pain, laughs, heartbreak, and most importantly... Love. The boy then takes a step forward, and says, "Isn't something missing?". The girl, oblivious, says nothing. The boy then remembers something, and looks to the setting sun and far-off ocean. He whispers into the wind, "When you left, I was broken. We were broken" He said, turning to the girl behind him." "Long ago, you were always here. Then, the one time I needed you the most, you weren't here. Why?" A soft voice is carried off by the wind. The girl's head perks up, remembering this forgotten voice. "We were always together. When you laughed, I watched you and laughed, too. When you cried, I cried as well. We were always together, you just never saw me.". Two figures appear, one a girl, and the other a boy. The first girl smiles, remembering these forgotten faces. The first boy takes another step forward and whispers, "Thank You."
"That was..."
Tsuki turned to Sakura. "You're not supposed to be here Sakura. It isn't your time. At least... not yet. Look for a new future."
Sakura took another step forward. "What are you talking about? Oniichan! What do you mean about 'my time' and 'New Future'?" Sakura screamed, but it was too late.
Everything disappeared.
Sakura awoke with a jolt.
"Wait! Tsuki..." Sakura stopped, seeing she wasn't on the sandy shores of a beach. She was in her room.
"Sakura! Thank goodness you're alright! Mrs. Haruno, Sakura's up!" Naruto shouted down the stairs.
Naruto walked back in Sakura's room, followed by a woman who looked exactly like Sakura with the exception of a few wrinkles and grey strands of hair.
"Sakura! I'm so glad you're okay!" The woman said, hugging Sakura. "I'll go get you some tea, okay?" She said, walking out of the room.
Naruto then turned on Sakura, a stern look on his face.
"Sakura. you mumbled things in your sleep. What about Tsuki?"
Sakura blinked. "I don't know. I think I saw her in a dream or something. She said something about looking for a new future and my time."
Naruto looked at her, wondering what Tsuki could've meant.
Hinata had flown around the underworld for hours. She was still getting used to her new surroundings.
There were many differences between the Akuma World and Tenshi World.
The Tenshi world was a beautiful misty white with crystal trees and plants. The flowers were always in bloom, and at night, everything sparkled. It's lakes and oceans were clear with the slightest tint of blue. The Tenshi world was a paradise.
The underworld, on the other hand, was murky and dark. The mountains and landforms were a bloody red, and demons lurked around every corner. There was an eternal fire that never went out, that was the only light in the entire underworld. Some referred to this place as either the Underworld, or The World of the Akumas.
Hinata found herself thinking back to Naruto and Sakura.
Sakura... in Hinata's eyes, Sakura was a traitor. She claimed she 'loved' Sasuke, but as soon as Hinata was gone, what did she do? She kissed Naruto.
Naruto... Thinking about him made Hinata sick. Always bright, sunny Naruto. Thinking about the blond just made her want to kill him even more. But she had a time table to keep. He would die... eventually they all would.
"Eventually..."
A/N: Sorry about the wait!
My life's just getting so hectic right now...
See you again!
