New Future Chapter 5

Tsuki's POV

Damn Sasuke! Damn him straight to heck! ...Oh wait, he already was in heck. I can't believe him! He sent that stupid teammate of his, I think her name was Karin, to posses Sakura's body to make sure it looked like she was trying to commit suicide! If it weren't for him, Hinata never would've... Oh! Even though I can't get to him, I can warn Naruto and Sakura...

My cellphone started to ring. "Hello?" I answered. It was Lu. Dammit... She only called whenever I had a job. "Yeah, It's Lu. You got a job. You got to escort another soul up here. Because of Sasuke's little trick with the Hyuuga twerp, every thing's gone upside-down. Hurry up! Hoshina's on my case, and I really don't need her yellling at me! That would be the worst possible thing that'll continue my already crappy morning. Ja ne."

Hoshina was the High Angel that was in charge of the, I guess you could call it the "death department''. She was kinda like the principal of the high school I went to before I well... you know. Hoshina was the second angriest person I've ever met, first being Tsunade. And the Dai definatly had a loud voice. The last time someone denied her orders, the San Fransisco earthquake happend.

I needed to get the job done quickly before Lu got screamed at.

It was a chain reaction.

Something bad would happen, Hoshina would get blamed, she would blame Lu, Lu would blame me, and I would start screaming to Hitomi about how unfair this job was, and the poor girl would just stay quiet, endure my wrath, and then go on with the most stressful job any of us would have to have. I really felt bad for her, but I never really learned how to control my anger.

I grabbed my whip, a sky blue ribbon attached to a white handle, a gold dragon circling it. It was engraved, Soul Searcher on the back.

If anyone got in my way, all I had to do was whip 'em and they would fly to Jupiter or something.

Before I left, I had to ask Hitomi a favor. We lived across from each other, so I knocked on her door. No answer. I started down the hall and saw Hatake Kakashi. He had joined us a few years back. He was an officer, got shot in a riot.

"Hello, Kakashi-senpai." I said politley.

Even though I was here longer, and had a higher rank than him, I still called him senpai. No san, kun, or even just plain old Kakashi. It had to be Kakashi-senpai.

"Hello, Uchiha-san." I sighed.

Everyday he called me Uchiha-san, and everyday I asked him to call me Tsuki. I was too tired to correct him today.

"Kakashi-senpai, do you know where Hitomi is?" He looked at me. "Hyuuga-san? I think she was talking with the gaurds at the gates last time I saw her." "The gates?" 'The gates to the Human World? What would she be doing there?'I thought to myself. I ran outside, thanking Kakashi on my way out.

End POV

Tsuki dashed to the gates in record time. She saw Hitomi there, and skid to a stop. She walked up to the purple-eyed kuro, saying a quick hello to the guards, Shikamaru, who looked half-asleep, and Shino, who looked like he was asleep.

''Hitomi, could I talk to you in a sec?" Tsuki asked. "Sure!" Hitomi said, nodding.

Tsuki and Hitomi walked a little further away, and Tsuki started.

"Did you hear what happend to Hinata?" Hitomi shook her head. "No. I had to go brief new shinigami about the rules. What happened?"

Tsuki took in a deep breath. "She remembered... everything." Hitomi's eyes widened. "No... how? How did this happen?" Tsuki looked at her friend. She could very well imagine what the kuro must have been feeling.

"She saw Naruto and Sakura... kiss."

Hitomi's eyes hardened and she opened her mouth to say something but Tsuki cut her off.

"Hinata ran off, passed out, Suigetsu, one of Sasuke's little henchmen found her, and Sasuke somehow transformed her into a..." Tsuki trailed off.

"Fallen...?" Hitomi tried to finish for her, but her mouth went dry, and she silently hoped she was wrong.

Her hopes were shattered when Tsuki nodded weakly.

"Now, about the favor, I think I know how you can get Hinata back, maybe even to live again."

Hitomi looked at Tsuki. "Really?"

"Yeah. I'll help you, too. All we have to do is tell Naruto and Sakura about Hinata."

Hitomi gasped. "But the rules say-" Tsuki got a mischievous look in her navy eyes.

"They said shinigami couldn't make contact with humans. They said nothing about angels!"

Hitomi was always a by-the-book kind of girl. She always followed the rules. Tsuki didn't follow rules, but she didn't break them either. She always found a way around them, that way, she would get her way and not get in trouble.

Sakura's Dream

Sakura was on a beach, waves washing over her feet. There was no sound, just the sound of the waves, and... singing?. The pinkettethen noticed something-or rather, someone- sitting on a rock, singing a soft tune.

''My heart, holds a melody for me...'' 'How come it feels like I've heard this song before?'

"I'll always remember you..." 'I remember this song, and I know this girl from... somewhere.'

"There will not be, an eternity for us. Although we will find a way! Listen close... to my heart's piano!" 'The song is... Aquamarine Melody...'

"Hold it tight, and listen to the aquamarine melody! Look for the shining moon, as it fades away! Until the sounds of the final waves vanish... Just walk with me to the sea now, for all of tonight. Because I care for you, but there are things I can never say! Dancing in the night, like the shining stars... I can't look to the sky, or my past will return... Tomorrow our love will shimmer so bright! And it's like destiny's soprano..."

"Tsuki-oneechan?" Sakura asked.

Tsuki looked down. "Oh, Sakura, hi! I didn't see you there. I started to get bored so I began to sing. Heh, my voice isn't very good, so sorry!''

Sakura put her hands up. "Oh, no! You sang great, for a dream. I mean... what are you doing here? You know, I must be crazy. First I see Hinata and now you? You're dead!"

Tsuki sighed.

"Sakura that wasn't an illusion. It was really Hinata! And Naruto's in danger."

Sakura started laughing. "Now I REALLY must be going crazy! Naruto? In danger? Yeah right. How am I spposed to know I'm not crazy? I mean..."

"Sakura! I'm totally serious! Didn't Naruto see Hinata, too?" Tsuki asked.

Sakura nodded "But-"

"No buts, Sakura! Sasuke's controlling Hinata, and she'll kill everyone that's important to you. Starting with Naruto. Sasuke gave her a human body just for this task."

"Sasuke is trying to kill everyoneI love? Why?"

"It's payback, I guess. After I left, he wanted to be alone. You were keeping him from that. And his only escape was to..." Tsuki looked down.

"But... Tsuki-oneechan... how do I stop her?" Tsuki threw her a cherry-blossom whistle.

"When you find her, blow on that. I'll see what I can do. In the meantime, keep Naruto safe." Tsuki said, and dissapeared.

Sakura bolted out of bed. "Wait! Tsuki-onee...chan." Sakura stopped seeing she was back in her own room.

' It was just a dream...' Sakura thought, laying back down.

She drifted into sleep, but not before noticing the small, pink whistle on her nightstand.

Naruto's Dream

Naruto found himself in a forest, lying against a tree. Light was shining through the deep canopy, showing Naruto the silhouette of a girl. He ran twords her, hoping he knew where they were. As he got closer, he could hear her singing.

There must still be the spirit you have forgotton hidden somewhere. In the deepness of the forest, hiding within the trees. People who are too tired, just don't look around, any farther, They lose themselves in the dark of an eternal place. Could we have seen it, if we stayed there, even just a little?

'Who is this girl? And Hinata-chan used to hum this song a lot...did she...know Hinata?'

Go on with our lives, and leave those thoughts behind, wrapped in many lies, we stand wordless, wanting to live our lives, Until we find out how to, search for the light, forever...

The girl turned. "H-Hitomi-oneechan?" Naruto asked, looking at the Hyuuga. Hitomi's hair was covering her eyes. "Onegai... Save Hinata... but be careful... Onegai, be careful..."

The dream ended.

Naruto woke up, and next to him was an orange whistle with a swirl on it. The Uzumaki picked it up, and inspected it. Hitomi's voice suddenly entered his thoughts.

'Naruto-chan, save Hinata, but be careful, she'll use any chance she gets to kill you. Save her... Please...'

Naruto clutched the small whistle.

'I will. I promise...'
