My Spring, Your Winter Chapter 5

Naruto and Hinata:

Hinata was walking with so many files in her hands, she couldn't even see the floor in front of her. That's why she didn't move out of the way when someone bumped into her. "OW!'' Hinata yelled, falling to the floor, all the files following her. She looked up to see a hand offering to help her up. "Oh, thanks!" She said, but when she looked up to see the face of this stranger, she was, to say the least, a bit shocked. "Naruto!" The Hyuuga yelled, quickly gathering the files and jumping up. Hinata was hoping the blonde boy wouldn't bring up the kiss the two shared two days before. ''W-what are y-you doing here?'' The blue-haired girl stuttered. ''Oh, I just wanted to ask you about the k-'' 'Shit! He's gonna talk about the kiss!' Hinata quickly cut off the blonde. "Sorry Naruto! I need to get these files to my bitch of a boss! If I don't, she'll kill me! Goodbye!'' The Hyuuga girl sped through the halls of Konoha police dwpartment, nearly tripping over a co-worker.

Sasuke and Sakura

"Okay, Sakura, I'm going to go talk to Aoi again, I want to see if she missed telling us something. You stay here.'' Sasuke said, pointing a finger at her and slowly walking to the door. Sakura raised an eyebrow. "Just, stay there, and don't move." Sasuke warned, and left the inn room. Sakura jumped up. 'Please, Sasuke won't find ANYTHING out from Aoi. I'll solve this case by myself!' Sakura smiled and sped out of the room.

The petal haired girl found herself in the library, looking for any clues about the case. She spotted a small, purple book, the name 'Kitsune' was printed into the was pushed far into the bookcase, like someone was trying to hide the book. She picked it up, and the bookcase in front of her slid open. Sakura looked around, and stepped inside the small tunnel. As soon as she did, though, the bookcase slid closed. 'Just great...' The pinkette thought.

It was pitch-black, and Sakura couldn't see anything. She'd been walking for minutes. Or... was it hours? Mabey even days? She couldn't even tell anymore. Suddenly, she bumped into what felt like a wooden door. Sakura slowly opened the door, and gasped once she saw what was inside. It was the decomposing body of a man, in a tuxedo, a red carnation wilting on his tuxedo. "Sakura-san'' a voice said from behind. The twenty-five year old whipped around, and was shocked to see Aoi Hikari standing behind her. ''Aoi-san, y-you did this?'' Aoi sighed. She looked at the decomposing body and smiled sadisticlly. "Looks like the cat's out of the bag, neh, Souta-kun?'' "S-souta? But, Souta w-was f-found..." "Sorry, Sakura-chan. I'm afraid you were mistaken. Now excuse me, but I'm afraid you've seen too much." Aoi said as she pulled out a gun. The teal-haired girl started to shoot, but Sakura was too fast. The Haruno rushed out of the way, bullets just missing her. She ran to another door, a back door, and sprinted down the hall. 'BANG!' A shot was heard, and Sakura felt pain rush up her right leg. She looked down, and saw blood trickle down her leg to her shoe. She cursed under clenched teeth, and shut her emerald eyes close. Sakura waited for the piercing pain of a led bullet and the loud bang of the gun, but instead all she heard was a small grunt and a comforting hand on her sholder. She opened an eye and saw Sasuke, a concerned look on his face. Behind him, an unconscience Aoi. ''S-Sasuke?'' "Saku-Chan! Are you Ok? Oh man... you're bleeding.'' Sakura rolled her eyes and said, "Well, that happens when you get shot.'' 'Hold on, did he just call me Saku-chan?' Sasuke took the scarf he was wearing (The blizzard was STILL going on) and wrapped it around Sakura's leg, using it as a bandage. Sakura blushed, but thanked him anyway.''You can't walk on your own yet, so I guess I'm gonna have to carry you." "Thanks, Sasuke, but what about her?" Sakura said, pointing to Aoi. Sasuke blinked. ''She'll be out for a while. Plus, I'm sending a friend to come pick her up. His name's Shikamaru. He should be here by the time the roads clear up. In the meantime, we'll just keep an eye on Aoi. But, she'll be out for the rest of the night." Sasuke said, picking Sakura up bridal style.

Later:

Sasuke was working on trying to get the bullet out of Sakura's leg. ''Hold still.'' The Uchiha said, using a pair of tweezers to get the bullet out. "S-Sasuke... Where'd you learn to do this?'' Sasuke smirked. "Sakura, my sister's a Medical examinor. I'm a police detective. I get shot, she get's the bullet out. It's as simple as that.'' Sakura smiled. Sasuke lifted the bullet out, a small, led thing. 'It's hard to believe something that small could cause so much pain' Sakura thought, rubbing her leg. Sasuke picked up a small spray bottle of medicine. ''This is gonna sting, OK?'' Sakura nodded. ''Don't worry. I'm sure it won't hurt as much as the bullet di- OWWWWWWW!" Sakura yelled, clutching her leg. "Told you it would sting." Sasuke said, putting on a bandage. "That you did. Thank you, Sasuke-kun.'' Sakura said, blushing. ''No problem. I ju- hey, wait a second, you called me Sasuke-KUN, didn't you?'' ''Wh-what, no! I would never..." Sakura looked at Sasuke. ''OK, I did. But it's not because I like you, it's be-'' Sakura was cut off by Sasuke's lips. When they pulled back, Sasuke expected Sakura to start yelling that the kiss was uncalled for and she had a boyfriend, but she didn't. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. Afterwards, the pinkette layed her head on Sasuke's sholdure and fell asleep.

Naruto and Hinata:

Sometimes, Hinata felt more like a secratary than a police officer. She was supposed to make copies of a missing persons report, and the copy machine was jammed. "Hinata-chan." "Hai, Naruto?" The Hyuuga girl said, not turning around. She pretended to try to fix the copier, but in truth, she was very nervouse talking to Naruto. "Um... I just wanted to see how you're doing, how's the weather, are you freaked out by the kiss, and if work's Ok." Hinata turned around. "Fine, partly cloudy, yes, and my boss is a bitch." She answered, turning her attention back to the copy machine. ''Oh, I see. Because I kind of feel that way, too." Hinata turned again. "About my boss?" "No, not about your boss! Well, I've met your boss and she is pretty mean and I feel sorry for you, but I was talking about the kiss." "Oh... Listen I'm sorry, don't take it the wrong way, but, I have a boyfriend, and you have Sakura. Not only that, but you were planning on proposing to her, too!'' "Yeah... hey, Hina-chan, can we start over?" Hinata smiled. "I'd like that." "So, how about a 'just friends lunch tomorrow?'' Naruto asked. "And mabey, when Sakura-chan and Sasuke-teme get back, we can have a double-date!" "Sure." Hinata said, kicking the copy machine. Naruto looked at her. "You need help?" He asked, kicking the copier a few more times and pressing the ON button. Out came about twenty copies of the missing persons' report, and Hinata smiled. "Thank you!" She said, picking up the files and rushing to her bosses' office.

Sasuke and Sakura:

Sakura woke up, her head on Sasuke's sholure. She picked her head up, and yawned. "Sasuke-kun, Sasuke-kun, wake up. It's 9:00, wake up." Sasuke opened an onyx eye. Sasuke looked at the window and perked up. "The roads are clear!" He said. "Yeah. When do you think Shikamaru'll come by?" Sasuke looked at her. "Sakura, Shikamaru's lazy, but he's an early riser. He probobaly already came and left." Sasuke said, taking his suitcase out from under the couch. "You already packed?" Sakura asked. "I never unpacked!" Sasuke answered.

A few minutes later:

"Okay, Sakura, are you ready to go?" Sasuke asked. She gave a short nod. ''Good. I have a meeting tomorrow morning to explain to my boss why a two-week murder investigation turned into a four-week one.'' Sakura gasped. Had it really only been four weeks? It seemed like a nrmal two weeks. As the two got ready to open the door to leave, Sakura spotted a small piece of paper.

Dear Sasuke,

I found that Aoi girl passed out in the library.

I picked her up at around 6:00, so I assumed you were still sleeping.

You owe me when you get back.

-Shikamaru N.

Sasuke crumpled the note. "I owe him nothing! I would have been better off taking her to Konoha Police Department myself.

Later, on the road:

"Sasuke, h-how do you feel about the k-kiss... and last night?" Sasuke gulped. "I don't know. Um..." This was an akaward question for him. He had Hinata, but something never clicked. She was a friend, like a little sister, but nothing else. Sasuke didn't feel anything else. They were too alike. Sasuke was winter, cold and unforgiving. Hinata was night, mysterious and beautiful. Next to him, Sakura was thinking almost the exact same thing. Sakura resembled a spring day, warm, generous and beautiful. To Sakura, Naruto was a brother, sweet, and overprotective, definatly. Naruto... He was... Day. Sunny, bright, and you always felt comfortable around him. They didn't belong together. After all, oppisites attract, right? "S-Sasuke, I think I love you."

A/N: Cliffy! I think... Anyway, this was longer, right, RIGHT? Plz review! Plz, Plz PLZ! Anyway, the next chapter is sorta like a songfic.

Bye!
