Sakura's POV
Where could she be?
We've been looking for hours on end.
Hinata was just going to fill up the canteens.
She said she would only be gone for fifteen minutes. Maybe twenty.
That was four hours ago.
I've known Hinata for nearly fourteen years. She had always been so sweet, so shy. But she had never been dishonest. If she promised something, she would never blow it off or leave someone out in the rain.
I hope she is okay... Then again, hope is a fragile thing.
I whisper a silent plead.
"Hinata... be safe..."
And then I felt something wet hit my nose.
I looked up, just in time to see rainclouds forming.
We had to act quickly, before Akamaru lost her scent.
Ino's POV
Sakura ran beside me, and she seemed to be deep in thought.
Hinata... where could she be? We've searched everywhere. For all we know, she could already be back at camp, wondering where we are.
...That's a nice thought, but impossible. Akamaru would have let us know by now.
Hinata... you're just like a lavender flower. So pure, so colourful. You can easily repel evil, just like the lavender is said to do.
I silently pray Hinata is okay, although I cannot shake the uneasiness from my mind.
I pray the rumors aren't true.
That the Sound have been spotted in the area. The area we were now searching in.
I hear Sakura whisper a silent plead, and I think the same.
A raindrop whizzes past the corner of my eye, and my eyes widened, and I hope the little speck of water was only my imagination. It wasn't. I could hear thunder booming in the distance. Lightning flashed briefly for a quarter of a second, and I shut my eyes tightly, wishing this was my imagination.
Hinata... please be okay...
'Please...'
Deep in my mind though, I could tell Hinata wasn't okay. She wasn't safe.
She wasn't going to make it.
Kiba's POV
Hinata... dammit... where are you?
The rain was going to come down any minute now, washing away any scent of Hinata we had.
Akamaru whined as it started sprinkling a little, the rain gradually getting harder.
"I know boy. Don't worry, we'll find her." I tried to reassure the big dog, but I wasn't even doing a good job in reassuring myself.
I looked down at the silver chain dangling from my neck. Dog tags. The dog tags. The dog tags Hinata gave me as a birthday present well over five years ago. My thirteenth birthday.
I looked at the blond haired teen a few feet ahead of me. My sharp eyes narrowed.
"Oi, Naruto. You're going to hurt yourself. Slow down." I heard Sakura say from the back of the party. She was right. Naruto, although I hate to admit it, was the most worried when he found out about Hinata's dissapearence.
Hinata... Where are you?
Naruto's POV
Hinata... where are you?
Everyone's worried. Including me.
We had become good friends over the years, although I've always wanted us to be something more. I'm not sure when my crush on Sakura disappeared, and my love for Hinata flared up. I guess it had all started with one simple simple Search Mission. A mission for Uchiha Sasuke.
Flashback (Not told in Naruto's POV. It's told in third person)
Naruto and Hinata jumped through the trees of Imori Forest, a forest about five miles outside the Land of Fire.
"Hey, Naruto-kun, I think I see someone, about three miles due east." Hinata said, Byakugan activated.
Naruto nodded, and they both took off in the direction Hinata pointed in; Naruto was determined to find the person he had been looking for for the past four years: Uchiha Sasuke.
"Hello, Naruto, Hinata." A familiar voice echoed through the forest.
Hinata and Naruto looked up quickly, just to stare into the deep, onyx-colored eyes of Uchiha Sasuke.
Four years hadn't changed the Uchiha so much. He still wore his white robe and purple rope attire (Sasuke's shippuden clothes) and his hair had become a somewhat darker blue. A faint but rather large scar was lingering around his left cheek. He was taller, for sure, and he had a snake-like tatoo on his right wrist. He then came charging at the two Konoha shinobi, katana raised.
(I'm not very good with fight scenes, so be creative and come up with your own!)
Sasuke had escaped, with only a few minor cuts and a possible broken wrist.
Naruto had a few nasty bruises, and a giant gash on his arm; that was gonna scar. He had also suffered a few cuts around his arms and face, but nothing serious.
Hinata, though, was not as lucky. She was barley conscious, and had cuts and bruises everywhere. But what really worried Naruto was the wound right next to her shoulder.
"Naruto-kun..." Hinata breathed, smiling sadly, her eyes closed.
Naruto took off for Konoha, Hinata limp in his arms.
If it weren't for the blue-haired girls' steady breathing, Naruto would have thought she was dead.
They made it to Konoha in minutes.
End Flashback (Back to Naruto's POV!)
I sighed at the memory.
I could practically feelthe others' discouragement. They didn't think we would find her.
...I knewwe would. Hinata was a fighter.
"N-Naruto-kun..."
I jumped. That was Hinata's voice.
I picked up the pace, and I faintly heard the others telling me to slow down.
I didn't care.
I just wanted to save her.
End POV
Naruto ran and ran, and slowly came to a stop in front of Hyuuga Hinata's bloody and beaten body.
He had to suppress a sob, and knelt down before the girl. "I love you Hinata.." He whispered brokenly.
As the others caught up, he could swear he heard Hinata's soft voice.
''Aishiteru, Naruto-kun..."
A/N:Second chapter. I don't plan on doing a third, but if I get more reviews, I might consider it.
