They were in third period Language class, Class 3-2. The girl, Rukia Kuchiki, sat towards the back of the class next to an open window. Her violet eyes were fixated outside on the schoolyard, daydreaming like she often did. The small breezes of wind that entered the room brushed through her raven- colored hair.
He, Ichigo Kurosaki, sat next to the petite girl. He watched the girl as his head was propped up against his elbow. He could see something distant in her eyes. He didn't know what it was, but he saw something.
He'd only known the girl for a day, but he could sense something about her aura that made Goosebumps rise on his neck. Yet she only came into their lives that morning.
stood in front of the class, "Ok, listen up guys!" Every student's eyes were locked onto their homeroom teacher, except for Ichigo who was leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed. Just trying to look cool.
"Today we're getting a new transfer student. She came from Tokyo last week and has finally moved into her home with her brother."
The classroom erupted with all kinds of reactions to the news. Most of the girls were giggling on how they hoped to be her friend first, except for Tatsuki who sat behind Ichigo in a similar position. She just let out a long sigh, thinking there was going to be another high pitched nutcase in the class.
Most of the guys in the room were wishing for a cute girl, and arguing who'd ask her out first. Ichigo didn't care either way, he just sat there quietly listening to his homeroom/ Language teacher.
clapped her hands together; "Okay, settle down…" the class immediately shut their mouths. The leading woman turned to open the classroom door, "You can come in now ." After backing away from the door Ichigo could see a small girl walking in.
Kuchiki… hadn't he heard that name somewhere before?
Ignoring the thought, Ichigo looks towards the class entrance. Just as he did a beautiful girl slowly walked in. Her Petite body fit perfectly into her winter uniform. She had the darkest hair he'd ever seen, the complete opposite of his bright orange hair, but the one thing he noticed most was her deep violet eyes. They were like large purple spheres; he'd never seen eyes like that.
Stopping in front of the class, the girl formally bows, "Hello," she said in a sweetly annoying voice, "I'm Rukia Kuchiki; it's very nice to be here in Karakura with you all." Neither Ichigo nor Tatuski moved from there positions.
The teacher walked up behind the girl and placed a hand onto her right shoulder, Ichigo noticed the tenseness of the girl in front of them. Could no one else see it? "Now I think you should sit next to Ichigo." The woman pointed at the orange siren.
Hearing his name, Ichigo shot his teacher a nasty glare. Knowing what he was thinking, she glared back at orange head.
Releasing her glare from Ichigo, the woman shows Rukia a sweet, welcoming smile. "Right there next to 'Carrot Top' okay?" After releasing her grip on the girl's shoulder, the girl's tenseness disappeared and a single drop of sweat rolled down her neck.
After returning to her position in front of the blackboard, exclaims, ", is there a problem?" She hadn't moved from her spot a single inch. "Kuchiki?" the girl never took her almost terrified eyes off of Ichigo.
"RUKIA!" Knocking the girl out of her daze, she answers, "H- hai!"
Motioning her hand to Ichigo's left, "Please take your seat. Don't worry, Kurosaki doesn't bite." Releasing a low grunt, Ichigo leans forward on his desk.
Rukia's eyes went dark and her head looked towards the ground. As she slowly lowered herself down into her seat got a devilish smile on her face. Pushing her glasses to her face, she glares at Ichigo again, "Kurosaki, I think you should stay with Rukia and be her personal helper for the week."
Almost falling out of his seat, the bright haired teen calls out, "Why me Ms.O?" showing yet another scowl on his face.
Hard to believe that was just yesterday. Ichigo thought to himself as class ended. As he put his books inside of his school bag, Rukia walks up to him.
She stood there silent for a few moments before Ichigo finally got frustrated and answered to her, "What?" making the girl jump.
Rukia fumbled with her fingers nervously, "umm… Kurosaki, could I barrow your English text book. I haven't got mine yet." She never made eye contact.
The boy just lets out an annoyed breath. She's lucky it's my best class. He mumbled in his mind.
Pulling the book out of his bag, he hands it to her. "I want this back tomorrow. Got it?" Shooting a glare down on the small girl. "Don't expect me to do this everyday." After taking the book in her hands; the girl only nods.
After watching her walk out of the classroom Tatsuki comes up from behind Ichigo and puts him in a chokehold. "Hey Ichigo!" Choking, Ichigo didn't answer. He tried to pry off his friend's arm from around his neck, but failed. After seeing his face turn purple, the karate captain releases her grip.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO ME TATSUKI!" Ichigo cursed holding his throat. The short haired girl didn't answer. Showing a big goofy smile, the girl laughs as she ruffles his bright hair.
"Sorry Ich. I've just been so bored today. Plus it's been a while since I've played with you like that." As the boy kept rubbing his neck, Tatsuki looks out the window to see the new girl walking home.
With a confused look on her face, Tatsuki motions for Ichigo to come over to the window. She points in Rukia's direction and says, "Why is she wearing a winter uniform when it's already March?" Looking out, Ichigo can easily see the girl in the crowd of students in spring uniforms.
"Just ignore it. She's new here so I guess she didn't get her spring one yet." Stretching, Ichigo grabs his bag and starts to walk home.
She was getting hot. Fanning herself as she walked home Rukia clutches her bag tight. Why did school have to end so quick today? Why can't it last a few more hours? Just until Niisama goes to work.
As she approached her apartment Rukia's pace slowed. Reaching for the doorknob, her hand trembled. Forcing herself to open the front door, all she saw was darkness. Great, Rukia sighed under her breath. Byakuya already left.
Rukia took a step inside and closed the door behind her. Finding her way through the darkness, the school girl felt her way up to the second floor. Looking to make sure no one was home; she entered her small room.
The small bedroom was filled with Chappy the rabbit merchandise and art supplies. She used to love to draw, but times change.
The only noise was of her bag landing on her bed. Rukia was finally able to relax and get out of that burning outfit. Finally able to unbutton her school jacket and pull it off her sweating torso. She let out a sigh of relief as the cool air touched her skin.
All the heat of the March day caused her to sweat through the undershirt of her uniform. Rukia rushed her fingers to unbutton the last bit of clothing on her upper body. As the material left her body her body was exposed.
Her back and arms were covered in nothing but scars. All of which have faded slightly with time. A hand sized bruise was on her right shoulder and another on was on her left wrist. The most obvious of all her markings was a long, dark scar that traveled from the bottom of her neck to the base of her spine. Rukia was completely sore, but she was unfazed by the pain of her body.
As she was about to unzip her skirt, a pair of long strong arms wrap around her and throw her against the bed. Rukia screamed from the sudden attack. The assailant was hovering above her. Opening her eyes, the girl looked at the face of her aggressor. It was what she had feared. Her brother was home…
